2010 Schedule

Thursdays     2 to 6 PM               May 6 through October 28

Saturdays      10 AM to 4 PM     May 8 through September 4

Sundays         1 to 4 PM             May 9 through September 5 

Our streetcars are carefully restored historical artifacts more than 100 years old. We do not operate them in the rain.
And although we make every effort to ensure reliable operations, occasional mechanical problems may force us to alter or cancel our schedule. 

2010 Fares

$2 per person, children 3 and under free 

Day Pass: $5, ride all day for one price
10-Ride Ticket: $17
25-Ride Ticket: $43
Season Pass: $49

* All Passes and multi-ride tickets are also valid at Como-Harriet Streetcar Line. Regular fares, passes, and multi-ride tickets not applicable for al special events.

Streetcars depart from the Water Street Station about every ten to fifteen minutes.
Passengers may also board at the Old Excelsior Road platform, located just west of the intersection of Old Excelsior Road and Minnetonka Boulevard.
Trips may include a tour of the Excelsior Carbarn.
Reservations are not necessary.

Ten and 25-Ride Tickets and Season Passes are available at the Como- Harriet Streetcar Line's Linden Hills Station in Minneapolis.
These tickets and passes are good on both the Como-Harriet and Excelsior Streetcar Lines.

2010 Charter Service

Please call 952-922-1096 or email us for more information or to reserve a charter. To expedite your request, please tell us your name, the name of your group, if any, your address, your telephone number(s) with area code, the date(s) and time(s) you're interested in chartering the streetcar, and approximately how many passengers we might expect.

Because the Excelsior Streetcar Line is an all-volunteer service of the Museum, charters should be reserved at least two weeks in advance of the date of the charter and payment should be received at least one week in advance of the date of your charter. The Museum reserves the right to decline to schedule a charter requested less than two weeks in advance of the proposed date and to cancel a streetcar charter for which payment has not been received one week in advance of the date of the charter.

Charter Guidelines

1. Minimum charter is 1/2 hour
2. Streetcar capacity is 48 passengers
3. Reservations should be made at least two weeks in advance
4. Payment should be received at least one week in advance

Excelsior Streetcar Line Location

Take Highway 7, accessible from Interstate 494, west past the Excelsior exit to County Road 19. Turn right at County Road 19 and right again at the first stop light, Water Street. The Excelsior Streetcar Line's station is located between 3rd and George Streets on the right. There is free on-street parking.

Yahoo map to Excelsior Streetcar Line The Yahoo map targets the intersection of Water Street and George Street, the western terminus of the Excelsior Streetcar Line. The streetcar stop is located 1/2 block to the northeast.
